Abstract:
South Africa recently became the first African country where
clinical pharmacology has been approved as a specialty. This
article outlines the need for clinical pharmacologists, their
role in advancing public health, the potential benefits to the
country, and recommendations for ensuring a healthy future
for the discipline.
