dc.description.abstract (1) Virulent anthrax strains grew mucoid and produced avirulent rough dissociants on serum agar, in a number of different carbon dioxide concentrations. (2) A relatively small close of avirulent spores immunized sheep against anthrax. (3) The immunizing power of the avirulent rough strains was not associated with the carbon dioxide concentration in which they developed. en_ZA
