dc.description.abstract House Borchsnhagen: See also 07738 and 07575. Original sketch plan dated 30/09/35 was a scheme for a single-storey “bungalow”. The later proposal (scheme 4) was much simplified into a longitudinal plan, as in all Eaton’s approaches, ideal for the local climate. No rounded forms, but the porthole windows and mast still remind of the “Streamline Moderne”. Face-brick lends a rougher texture. First sketchplans are dated 24.11.1935. This particular drawing is dated: November 1936. The drawings of the later additions (1951) show that the roof angle was unfortunately built to be far more pitched than the original intention had been. en_US
