dc.description |
On Eloff’s return to Paris from South Africa in 1929, he took some Voortrekker clothes back with him to create this figure of a traditional Voortrekker girl. Once in Paris, he decided that he would prefer an Afrikaner girl for his sculpture as opposed to a local French woman and used Johanna van Broekhuizen as his model . This bronze is in the SP Engelbrecht Archives Collection in Pretoria. |
