dc.description |
This coarse round conical-shaped “Vetpot” has a dark brown lead-glaze on grey clay. The base is dented, unglazed and unmarked. This type of pot was produced by the Dutch East India Company’s pottery in Cape town in the 1660s. According to the original owner it was purchased from an antique dealer in Cape Town in the 1950s. |
