dc.description The life drawing classes which Bettie followed under Phyllis Gardner in 1940 laid the foundation for further study in figure drawing in Antwerp in 1948. These two pencil drawings of nudes were made during her visit to Paris in August 1948. These are typical academic nude studies. en_ZA
