Open access provides an excellent opportunity for libaries to forge a new relationship with academe around the issues of scholarly communication and copyright. The presentation highlights a few reasons for slow uptake in South Africa, discusses the "Report on a Strategic Approach to Research Publishing in South Africa" as an important indicator and makes suggestions to build momentum. |
