dc.description.abstract In this essay some of the prejudices against the Sabbath are discussed. It is stated that the church should be emancipated from anti-Judaic sentiments when the Sabbath as institution is evaluated. Attention is given to the meaning of the Sabbath in the Jewish tradition, and the value of some aspects of the Sabbath for modern society is illuminated. en
