dc.description.abstract	In this article the impact and effect of representing language in the Bible and poetry is considered. The landscape of metaphors is viewed and their different functions are indicated. The language of imagery is explored especially through a closer look at Psalm 23. The picturesque power of selected poems is reflected on. The locale of Psalm 23 in the liturgy is also investigated.	en
