dc.description.abstract This project explains in detailed the measures that have to be taken to resolve the problem of excessive outsourcing. Documentation includes: review of related literature identification of tools, methods and techniques required selection of the best-suited approach data and information collection conceptual solution approach and best-suited solution The project consists of the development of a new facilities layout to accommodate proposed new machinery purchases with the intention of reducing outsourcing. Each piece of equipment is analysed to identify the equipment best suited to the company. Economic studies have been completed to determine the best choice of the available equipment and whether or not it will be beneficial to purchase the equipment. Finally, the facility layout is redesigned to accommodate the recommended new equipment purchases. en_US
