Abstract
Description
Clinical history : A male 5 0 years old developed cardiac failure due to emphysema and car pulmonale.
History of peptic ulceration was present and examination showed severe anaemia.
Melena stool was passed and the patient collapsed suddenly.
Autopsy findings : 1. Chronic bronchitis and vesicular emphysema.
2. Cor pulmonale.
3. Large chronic peptic ulcer in pyloric antrum with signs of haemorrhage from artery in bed of ulcer.
4. Intestinal tract filled with dark coloured blood.
Diagnosis: Chronic peptic ulcer with intestinal haemorrhage as complication of severe emphysema.
