Description

Clinical history : A female child 2 years of age had oedema of the hands and feet, palpable liver and dullness over the left lung.
Diagnosis of kwashiorkor and pneumonia was made.
Autopsy findings : 1. Kwashiorkor.
2. Primary tuberculous complex left lung and widespread tuberculous pneumonia.
3. Hematogenous spread of tuberculosis in both lungs.
4. Metastatic and miliary tuberculosis in kidneys, liver and spleen.
5. Mural thrombosis in apex of left ventricle.
Diagnosis: Primary tuberculous complex with tuberculous bronchopneumonia and hematogenous tuberculosis.
Endocardial thrombosis in left ventricle
