Description
Clinical history : A 69 year old male with a history of skull traction due to a suspected fracture to the cervical spine which resulted in osteitis development of the skull and a cerebral abscess.
The abscess was surgically removed and the patient had improved.
The patient then reported paresis of the right arm and acute abdomen with jaundice.
A radiograph presented with large gallstones and a diagnosis of obstructive jaundice was made.
Autopsy findings : 1. Cerebral scar in the region which was previously operated.
2. Acute haemorrhaging pancreatitis.
3. Old calcification in the right lobe of the liver.
4. Centri-lobular fatty liver and degeneration and bile retention.
Diagnosis: Acute hemographic pancreatitis
