Abstract
Description
Clinical history : A female patient 22 years old with diagnosis of lepromatous leprosy.
Under treatment she developed oedema and albumin was present in the urine.
Nephrotic syndrome was diagnosed and the patient became uremic.
Autopsy findings : 1. Lepromatous leprosy.
2. Secondary amyloidosis of kidneys and spleen.
3. Mitral valve endocarditis.
Diagnosis: 1. Spleen: Lepromatous leprosy and focal amyloidosis.
2. Kidney: Amyloidosis with lipid material in renal tubules
