Abstract
Description
Clinical history : A white male patient 77 years old with clinical signs of prostatic enlargement.
A prostatectomy was done and post operative jaundice and later right-sided hemiplegia with aphasia developed later.
Oliguria was present and the patient died 12 days after the operation.
Autopsy findings : 1. Vesicular emphysema and bronchopneumonia.
2. Wide spread infarction of left side of cerebrum.
3. Bilateral chronic pyelonephritis, hydronephrosis, hydro-ureter and ureter obstruction due to severe ureteritic cystica.
4. Diverticulosis and trabeculation of bladder (due to previous prostatic enlargement).
5. Fatty change and necrosis in liver.
Diagnosis: 1. Diverticulosis of bladder.
2. Bilateral ureteritis cystica with hydronephrosis.
3. Chronic pyelonephritis / Chronic pyelonephritis
