Description
Clinical history : A 54-year-old male had longstanding massive right-sided pleural effusion with no response to treatment.
He died 9 months after first admission.
Autopsy findings : 1. Massive right pleural effusion and large pleural mesothelioma with infiltration of the diaphragm.
2. Pulmonary asbestosis with asbestosis plaque on left side of diaphragm.
3. Tumour infiltration of right hilar and para-aortic lymph nodes.
Diagnosis: Asbestosis with pleural mesothelioma
