Abstract
Description
Clinical history : A 28 year old male with heart failure.
Radiographs and ECG show right ventricular enlargement.
No noise was audible and the patient was diagnosed with mitral stenosis.
Autopsy findings : 1. Idiopathic endomyocardiopathy with pronounced myocardial fibrosis.
2. Normal coronary vasculature.
3. Bilateral infarction of the inferior lobe of the lungs.
4. Chronic venous congestion.
5. Confluent bronchopneumonia.
6. Subcapsular areas of old infarction in both kidneys.
Diagnosis: Idiopathic endomyocardiopathy
