Description
Clinical history : A white male 26 years old was admitted with headache, loss of consciousness and bulbar signs of subarachnoid haemorrhage.
Exploration of posterior cranial fossa showed a large tumour infiltrating the medulla.
A ventricular shunt was performed and the patient's condition improved Later dilated pupils and high ventricular pressure was relieved through catherization.
Clinical diagnosis of hemangioblastoma of the medulla was made and the family gave family history of the same condition in a sister and his mother.
Autopsy findings : 1. Cerebellar hemangioblastoma.
2. Multiple hypernephromas in both kidneys.
3. Multiple pancreactive cysts.
Diagnosis: Lindau van Hippell disease
