Description
Clinical history : A 57 year old female with heart failure and rheumatic valve injury.
The patient had a mitral and aortic stenosis and incompetancy.
The patient later underwent open heart surgery with replacement of the mitral and aortic valves with a Starr-Edward prosthesis and repair of the incompetant tricuspid valve and later died of respiratory failure.
Autopsy findings : Chronic rheumatic pancreatitis with repair of the mitral and aortic valve and tricuspid valve.
Diagnosis: Replacement of the mitral and aortis valves with Starr Edwards prosthesis for mitral and aortic stenosis
