Wokół Kapuściński non-fiction. Próba podsumowania i ewaluacji dyskusji

Abstract

In this article Paweł Zajas takes a critical look at the polemics around Artur Domosławski’s biography of Ryszard Kapuściński (2010). Leaving aside controversies that are either political or personal, Zajas argues for a critical discussion of these events. Two visions of non-fiction have emerged out of the heated debate: adherents of the genre’s progressive ‘hybridisation’ acquiesce to Kapuściński poetic licence, while opponents see it necessary to delimit fiction and non-fiction. The aesthetics of the reception of non-fiction was a key aspect of the debate, as were prescriptive arguments concerning the genre.
