dc.description May Belle Clarke (1894 - 1918) studied art in Paris at the same time as Fanie Eloff and it is presumed that they met there. Clarke died under the surname of Brooks at a young age of 24 in England. Eloff’s portrait of May Belle Clarke was taken to Atlanta in the United States of America by her family.
