dc.description Thesis (B Eng. (Industrial and Systems Engineering))--University of Pretoria, 2011. en_US
dc.description.abstract At Klipspruit Colliery, an opencast coal mine near Ogies, the many possible unforeseen complications experienced on a mine force the production plans to be altered repeatedly. The aim of this project is to prove that simulation modelling can be used to develop a tool that allows the user to change key process performance parameters, while satisfying mine specific constraints, to illustrate the effects of these changes on the entire mining process. The changing of performance parameters is meant to be representative of the decisions that are being considered. en_US
