dc.description.abstract Taking a look at how environmentally friendly buildings fit into South Africa's social, economical and cultural conditions and examining whether the concept is appropriate or not. By focusing on economic viability together with the progress that green buildings have already made in South Africa. It is possible to draw to a conclusion that the concept is appropriate in South Africa and will be increasingly implemented in the Building Industry through the use of both statutory and voluntary regulations and guidelines. en_US
