This article provides an overview of teacher migration from South Africa to the United Kingdom over the past decade. The research focuses on the following aspects of migration: the recruitment of South African teachers; motivation for migration; the impact of teacher shortages in both the recruiting and the source country, and experiences of South African teachers in the United Kingdom.
