2025-11-272025-11-27http://hdl.handle.net/2263/105555Clinical history : A thirteen year old female patient in semi-coma with septicaemia and positive Kernig and Brudzinski signs.Lumbar puncture was done and acute leptomeningitis diagnosed.Streptococcus pneumoniae was isolated from the fluid. The patient died 3 hours after admission.Autopsy findings : 1. Acute leptomeningitis (S.pneumoniae).2. Infective endocarditis ofmitral valve.3. Rheumatic myocarditis.4. Bronchopneumonia-conjluent.5. Septic embolization to kidney, brain, bone marrow and myocardium.Diagnosis: Acute infective endocarditis of mitral valve
