2025-11-272025-11-27http://hdl.handle.net/2263/106481Clinical history : A 64-year old white female patient in cardiac failure was diagnosed with polycythemia although blood haemoglobin value was only 15 g.Examination showed aortic valve stenosis and metastatic liver tumour.In the terminal stages the patient developed paralytic ileus.Autopsy findings : 1. Carcinoid tumour of ileum.2. Metastases to liver and mesenterial lymph nodes.3. Microscopic metastases to the heart and vertebrae.4. Pulmonary valve stenosis and tricuspid valve thickening.5. Infarction of small intestines, both superior and inferior to the tumourDiagnosis: 1. Carcinoid tumour of ileum with lymph node and liver metastases.2.
