Static heat stabilities were determined at 200 oC by following the time dependence of hydrogen chloride evolution. Fire retardant performance was studied with a cone calorimeter at a radiant flux of 35 kW m2. The layered double hydroxide outperformed the other fillers with regard to improving static heat stability and also with respect to most fire retardant performance indices.en© The Author(s) 2015.
