Theiler did some research in 1902 and in 1909 the micro-organism causing this disease was isolated. It was then possible for the first time to give the exact proof that one particular bacillus caused a specific haematogenous nephritis which generally ended fatally. The first 7 pages of the Report consist of frontmatter. This article is the seventh of eight articles in the report, contains 6 plates and a reference list at the end of the article.enTransvaal Department of Agriculture. ©University of Pretoria.
