These articles all have a central theme, namely the clinical and echocardiographic presentation of rare and subtle congenital cardiovascular anomalies in the adult. These articles have all been published in international, peer reviewed journals with significant impact. In addition, these thirty six articles have been widely cited and some have been included in textbooks on cardiology. The articles in this thesis have therefore contributed to this specific field of study in cardiology and is currently guiding further research in the field as evident by the number of citations for this work.en© 2019 University of Pretoria.
