High standards must be maintained during performance on the job. Thus the working environment of the pilot in the airways company is characterised by a high workload and work stress. This study aims at identifying the potential stressors present in the working environment of pilots of a national commercial airways company. A pilot study involving the study group led to the identification of five stressor dimensions which were used and evaluated as potential stressors in this study. The influence of moderator variables on the stressor dimensions was also determined. Results of the study indicate that all stressor dimensions are experienced as significantly stressful and should be addressed organisationally.212148 bytesapplication/pdfAfrikaansFaculty of Economic and Management Sciences, University of PretoriaAirlinesCommercial pilotsPersonnelDemandsStandardsAir pilotsAir pilots -- Job stressIdentifisering van stressors aanwesig by vlieëniers van 'n kommersiële lugrederyArticle
