File size: 13.0 KB.From the Pearse Collection: photograph depicting a variety of richly engraved 18th century glass housed at Groote Schuur. It includes a wine glass, port or sherry glasses, beakers and a decanter. It is uncertain whether the engraving is wheel or diamond-point engraving. The wineglass in the centre has a flared trumpet bowl, and its stem has an inverted baluster above what appears to be a folded foot. Photograph probably considered for prof. Geoffrey Pearse's book "Eighteenth Century Furniture in South Africa", but never included.Black and white photographComplies with rights as specified by Collection AdministratorGlasswarePearse, G.E.18th CenturyEighteenth CenturyWine glassesCarafesDecantersPearse, Geoffrey Eastcott (1885-1968)BeakersEngraved glassArchitecture -- South Africa -- 18th century -- detailsEighteenth Century Glass at Groote SchuurImage
