This relationship provides answers to the many questions that face the postmodern believer and the church in the current secular world. Believers constantly battle to apply their faith in a practical way. The reason for this is that believers do not have a reference point from which to apply their faith in practice. The relationship between Christology and ethics in the letter to the Colossians presents such a reference point, namely the believer’s identity in Jesus Christ. This identity in Christ, and not nomalism, should determine all ethical decisions of the believer.Afrikaans© 2010. The Authors. Licensee: OpenJournals Publishing.
