(Industrial and Systems Engineering))--University of Pretoria, 2011.Project management is a key part of most businesses and this environment is robust and high paced. Using best practices and researched methodologies in project management, businesses may gain a competitive advantage in completing projects correctly, on schedule, within budget, and according to specifications. One element of project management, which is integral to success but usually overlooked, is the human factor. People are part of all business processes and therefore this project will focus on analyzing the relationships, interactions, and knowledge flow between project management team members. This will be done using the social network analysis methodology. Social network analysis is a means to understand the way that information flow, general work instructions, and knowledge transfer operates through the interactions between participating employees. Also, the teams’ process maturity level, which indicates how mature a project management team is according to a maturity framework, will be obtained and analysis will be performed to determine correlations between social network analysis and process maturity.92 pagesPDFenCopyright: University of PretoriaMini-dissertations (Industrial and Systems Engineering)Interaction DimensionsMetricsKnowledge areasProject processesProject management social network analysis and process maturityText
