2025-11-272025-11-27http://hdl.handle.net/2263/106776Clinical history : A 53 year old male patient well known rugby player had endarterectomy of iliac arteries 4 years previously.He was admitted with atrial fibrillation, heart failure and pulmonary oedema.Myocardial infarction was diagnosed with aneurysmal dilatation of left ventricle.Severe haemoptysis, cyanosis and loss of consciousness pointed to extension of infarction.Artificial respiration was started and the heart failure signs improved but the patient remained unconscious.Before death monoplegia of right arm, Cheyne-Stokes respiration and bradycardia developed.Autopsy findings : 1. Triple coronary artery atherosclerosis.2. Subendocardial myocardial infarction.3. Dilatation of all heart chamber and bilateral atrial thrombosis.4. Cerebral embolism and infarction.5.
