Factors such as civil war from 1976 to 1992, starvation and natural disaster are ongoing problems that displace many children and youth who became vulnerable. The impact of civil war and natural disaster have dehumanized children and youth due to famine, drought, floods, malnutrition, work exploitation, sexual abuse, and involvement in forced premature marriage practice. Adolescents no longer trust adults, or themselves.en© 2019 University of Pretoria. All rights reserved. The copyright in this work vests in the University of Pretoria.
