Trichostrongylus axei was the most abundant nematode parasite followed by Cooperia spp. and Ostertagia ostertagi. Haemonchus spp. occurred in relatively low numbers and its development was significantly inhibited. The total helminth parasite burdens of the calves ranged from 681 to 7269 with a mean of 4405.en© ARC-Onderstepoort (original). © University of Pretoria.
