The literature reviewed also indicated how funeral cover from burial societies and funeral parlours has helped to regulate the divergence created by the traditional insurance sector by offering products customised to low-income families. Recommendations are submitted on alternative regulatory frameworks and governance requirements that could be considered to protect consumers participating in burial societiesen© 2023 University of Pretoria.
