It therefore influences one’s identity. This article recognizes a plurality of spiritualities. It focuses on the relationship between women’s experiences and spirituality within the framework of Christian faith. The concept patriarchaler Entfremdung is illuminated. This is the alienation women experience when they exist as women in male-defined, male-structured and male-dominated ecclesiastical cultures.
