2025-11-272025-11-27http://hdl.handle.net/2263/106772Clinical history : A 72-year old woman presented with a tumour mass in the right hypochondrium and at laparotomy a diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma was made.Chemotherapy was given and good response obtained: 5 cm hepatomegaly disappeared and all the biochemical parameters including serum alfa-fetoprotein and carcinoembryonic antigen values became normal.Nine months later hepatomegaly and weight loss recurred and chemotherapy was ineffective.She died 10 months after the initial diagnosis was made.Autopsy findings : 1.
