In the centre, the mid 18th century gateleg table with cabriole legs is surrounded by chairs with unusual backs - these resemble the Tulbagh type, but have Queen Anne characteristics. Above the cabinet on stand with barley sugar turned legs hang a landscape painting and two 17th century portraits. To the right is an armoire with a flat cornice and bun feet. Photograph probably considered for prof. Geoffrey Pearse's book "Eighteenth Century Furniture in South Africa", but never included.Black and white photographComplies with rights as specified by Collection AdministratorCape Dutch18th CenturyEighteenth centuryPearse, G.E.InteriorsDining roomsPearse, Geoffrey Eastcott (1885-1968)ArmoiresCabinet on standGateleg tablesArchitecture -- South Africa -- 18th century -- detailsTable, Mrs. Purcell's collectionImage
