South Africa is the southernmost country in Africa. In 2018, the population of South Africa was estimated at more than 57 million. South Africa is a very diverse and multicultural country that consists of different racial groups. These demographics account for the differences in genetic, ethnic, and epidemiological risk factors for lung cancer. South Africa consists of nine provinces, and the incidence of lung cancer and treatment options available differ between provinces.en_ZA
