House for well-known advocate Bram Fischer in Johannesburg. See Clive Chipkin’s description of the house ("Johannesburg transition: architecture & society 1950-2000", 2009:376) Very much part of the modern influence, as Chipkin writes: “The Fischer house is Eaton without Africa”. Also references to the house in Nadine Gordimer’s "Burger’s daughter" (1979). The drawings are dated: 5.8.38.
