Abstract

Description

Clinical history : A 21 year old female with lepromatous leprosy.
The disease had begun in 1958 and in 1963, the patient had developed an edema and albuminuria.
The patient had passed in 1964.
Autopsy findings : 1. Healing lepromatous leprosy.
2. Renal amyloidosis with nephrotic syndrome and ascites.
3. Amyloidosis of the liver, spleen and adrenal gland.
4. Lepromatous infiltration of the ulnar nerve, spleen, liver and lymph nodes.
Diagnosis: 1. Amyloidosis of the spleen.
2. Amyloidosis of the kidney with lipid material in the kidney
