Abstract
Description
This white ceramic plate is decorated with a floral border which contains two panels with sparrows all in transfer printed green. It was manufactured by the Ceramic Art Company Ltd of Crown Potteries at Stoke-on-Trent in 1901. According to the owner it was bought at the time of the Anglo-Boer War in Johannesburg. This plate was donated the University of Pretoria in 2007 by Mr and Mrs Percy and Jeanette van Rooijen of Pretoria.
