Dried pulverized Hypericum ethiopicum drenched to sheep caused intense photosensitization. From the dried plant a deep red fluorescent pigment was obtained, which caused marked photosensitization in sheep. No icterus occurred. H. leucoptychodes causes a much weaker and delayed photosensitization.en
