Description
Clinical history : A 4 year old female with jaundice and dark urine for 2 weeks with severe ascites and signs of liver failure prior to death.
Autopsy findings : 1. hepatitis with submassive liver necrosis and multiple intranuclear bodies probably due to herpes symplex virus.
2. Jaundice.
Diagnosis: Herpes simplex hepatitis
