| dc.description.abstract | We describe novel hybrid primers for the successful amplification and sequencing of the mitochondrial cytochrome b (cytb) gene in the family Siganidae. We aligned 403 cytb sequences from 29 species and found multiple potential conserved hybrid primers (< twofold degeneracy). The best set was selected, and successfully amplified and sequenced ~ 1100 bp of cytb in the Siganidae. | en_ZA |
