Description
Clinical history : A 36 year old male with a large liver and portal hypertension.
A diagnosis of Budd-Chiori syndrome was made after biopsy with hepatocellular carcinoma.
A vena-cavogram showed a membranous failure of the vena cava.
The patient had multiple episodes of hematic a.g.v rupture of the oesophageal varices.
Autopsy findings : 1. Hepatocellular carcinoma.
2. Membranous failure of the inferior vena cava.
Diagnosis: Membranous closure
