Houseparents of Onderstepoort residence: 1976 to 1985

Abstract

A few articles were published on the houseparents of the Onderstepoort residence. This article pays tribute to the late Dr Eddie Genis and his wife, Christa, who were the houseparents from December 1975 to December 1985. Eddie and Christa started the Onderstepoort Cultural Club / Kulturele Klub in 1976 which leaded to the establishment of a new tradition, namely an annual variety concert held at the Aula where UP students displayed their talents.
