Abstract
Two new synthetic chlorinated hydrocarbon insecticides Isodrin and Endrin
have been tested for their larvicidal effect against L. cuprina and for the duration
of the period they afford protection against artificial strike. These properties
compare favourably with those of similar products tested previously. However, a
deleterious bleaching effect upon the wool, probably due to saponification of the
wool grease accompanied by structural changes in the staple precludes their use for
obvious economic reasons.
